We are here to answer your questions and hope the following tips/guidelines for our ORTHODONTIC patients that will help until we are able to see you again in the office.
Patients with Expanders:
Please continue to turn the expander as was prescribed until the date of your original appointment. After this date, please STOP turning until we are able to reschedule your appointment.
Patients with Invisalign:
Please continue to wear and change your aligners as prescribed. If you are on the last aligner that you were given, please continue to wear this aligner until we are able to see you. Remember a little dish soap and water will help keep the aligners clean.
Patients with Braces:
Please continue to wear your elastics as prescribed, brush/floss, and follow the list of foods to avoid.
Wire pokes in the back: clean pair of nail clippers can be used to trim the wire. Wax will also provide relief
Wire pokes in the front: use a clean pencil eraser to tuck the wire in. Wax will also provide relief.
Broken Brackets: a broken bracket will generally slide along the wire and generally will not cause discomfort. Wax will also provide relief. We will fix these brackets at your next appointment
Patients with Retainers:
Please continue to wear your retainers as prescribed. If you lose your retainer we will address remaking them per individual situation once we reopen.
As always, if your child has an emergency, you can reach Dr. Shah (orthodontics) and Dr. Sultan (pediatric dentistry) by using our office number: 973-338-1383.
We miss you all and can’t wait to see you back at the office!!
Be safe out there. We can’t wait to see you and your little one’s smile when things return to normal!
Sincerely,
